MEDIEVAL MYSTIC RING, 12th-14th CENTURY, SIZE 8 1/2 2/14/2023 Size about 9Gilt bronze, oval form with a raised banded edge bezel with a six point star (hexagram) on hatched field, the center with cabalistic ciphers, mostly obscured by texture from burial. The form of the decoration accords with more common Christian rings of the period, representing the Star of Bethlehem. However, at the time, the Star of Bethlehem was depicted with four points.
